Get your SU equipped classic running perfectly with our carb tune. With almost 20 year's of experience in carbs and training from the renowned tuner AC Dodd we can now bring this service to classics in the central belt of Scotland.
Our standard tuning service includes checking the condition of the carb and ignition system, setting a base level for the fuelling and then assessing a combination of factors that can alter the fuel in across the rev range. Once we have established the behaviour of the current setup we can select the correct needle, spring and dash pot oil. If the car is modified we can custom profile a stock SU needle to provide a fuel delivery unique to your engine.
All naturally aspirated cars are tuned at our workshop in West Lothian. If you have a turbo or supercharged SU carb setup we can help by hiring a rolling road to get the best from this setup.
Prices are for a basic tune, needles, springs and dampers are charged between £10-£20 per item depending on requirement. We can offer an ignition service which includes Rotor Arm, Distributer Cap, HT Leads and Spark Plugs. You can also add a carb rebuild or distributer rebuilds if the condition of these components is found to be too far gone to allow us to tune your car.
Classic Minis, Morris Minor, MGA and MGB among other marks all run SU Carbs.
We are happy to tune and advise on other carbs but a full service might not be possible.
